The annual Miss Black University of Georgia pageant hosted by the Zeta Psi chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is an academic scholarship competition aimed to highlight the community’s academic achievements, reward acknowledge worthy college participants, and honor the chapter’s first deceased member, Kimberlee Nicole Chatmon, and late advisor, Althea Fleming. Contestants will compete in the following sections: platform speech, talent presentation, question and answer, and formal wear. The winner will be crowned Miss Black University of Georgia.

The Classic City Community Chorus presents "A Vision Unfolding" by Kyle Pederson. Through song and spoken word, using texts by Walt Whitman, Langston Hughes, Shanelle Gabriel, as well as his own, Pederson hopes to "build bridges of care and connection, finding a better way of being in Community." This powerful work, and others by Pederson, Moses Hogan, and Dolly Parton will challenge us all to live our light and love into a world that desperately needs it.&nbsp;

Since 2022, comics have been creating their own opportunities and culture in the Classic City. In the wake of the pandemic locals began rebuilding their scene in Athens rock and roll fashion by starting open mics and showcases in partnership with local venues across the city.&nbsp;

These shows started a movement that has created a rich comedy culture in Athens. The Athens Comedy Fest now elevates the comedy scene to the next level with national headliners, touring comedians, and standout local talent with the second annual Athens Comedy Fest.&nbsp;

Note: This show features mature language and themes. Ages 18 &amp; up advised!
