"STORIES FROM CHILDHOOD: FROM A TINY ACORN" 2014 Speaker Series

PROMINENT ATHENS SPEAKERS SHARE CHILDHOOD STORIES

More children in Athens-Clarke and Oconee Counties are entering foster care each year. They need as much help as possible to navigate the court system and other challenges. The non-profit organization, Children First, assists these children with advocates, and provides their families with parenting and visitation programs. The organization presents its 2nd annual summer fundraiser this July and August.

"Stories from Childhood: From a Tiny Acorn" offers insight from noted Athenians on how their childhood experiences impacted their adult successes.

July 27: Darius Weems - ambassador for Duchenne muscular dystrophy; includes screening of documentary, 'Darius Goes West'
