ATLANTA, GA — Georgia has one of the top 10 best places to celebrate the Fourth of July this year, experts say in a WalletHub report released on June 24.
Celebrations around the country recall not only the events leading up to the adoption of the Declaration of Independence by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776, but also look forward and aim to make the 4th of July weekend a massive, multigenerational cultural moment focused on community connections and charitable giving.
This year, the annual holiday is being commemorated with America 250, recognizing the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
“The 4th of July is one of the most beloved holidays in America, allowing many of us to not only celebrate our independence but also get a day off of work and gather together with family and friends," WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo said in the report. "The best cities for the holiday help you make the most of your day, with affordable food options, good weather, fun recreation choices and long, spectacular fireworks shows.”
In Georgia, Atlanta is the eighth-best place to celebrate Independence Day, according to WalletHub, a personal finance company.
Atlanta joined the likes of Las Vegas, New York City and Los Angeles in the top 10 with an overall score of 61.02.
