Residents are warned of a localized flash flood threat that may arise as slow-moving storms travel across portions of Georgia on Wednesday.
The National Weather Service's Peachtree City office alerted to the marginal risk of flash flooding in north Georgia and as far south as Macon and Sandersville, near Dublin. A marginal risk means there is a 5 percent chance of flash flooding.
This could impact commuters in the afternoon and evening, when the floodwaters are expected.
In addition to flash flooding, other hazards include gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall, according to the forecast that was issued for metro Atlanta, Cherokee, Clarke, Paulding, Douglas, Hall, Forsyth and Bartow counties.
The NWS advised drivers to not travel through flooded roadways.
Georgia has faced flood concerns as recent as Tuesday, when storms impacted flights at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
Unrelated to weather, downtown McCaysville was flooded Monday due to road construction.

The storm threat will continue through at least Tuesday.
