Several Georgia counties on Tuesday have been put on notice about potential thunderstorms that could conjure frequent lightning, small hail and strong gusty winds.
The National Weather Service reported the isolated to scattered storms could also lead to isolated flash flooding due to heavy rainfall.
The timeline of the storms stretches from the afternoon into the evening for the counties of Bartow, Clayton, Cherokee, Fulton, Paulding, Cobb, Gwinnett, Fayette, Rockdale, Clarke, DeKalb, Forsyth, Barrow, Douglas, Hall and several others in the north and central state regions.
This is before the chances of more storms each afternoon the rest of the week, according to the hazardous weather outlook. With these systems, the NWS said locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds could be concerning.
The likelihood of severe weather will be on Wednesday, when damaging wind gusts could threaten the north and central Georgia regions.
Additionally, the Peach State will warm up into heat indices ranging from 102 degrees to 105 degrees by Friday, according to the forecast. These apparent "feel-like" temperatures will reflect actual temperatures in the mid- to high 90s.
