ATLANTA, GA — An inmate who escaped from the Fulton County Jail early Thursday morning has been captured, authorities said.
The Fulton County Sheriff's Office said Demetrius Burkes was located and re-arrested after escaping the jail. Details were limited.
However, Fulton County Jail records showed Burkes was booked into the facility on a theft by taking charge Tuesday. He has since been charged with felony escape.
According to jail records, Burkes is now in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
