CNN, HBO Outage Hits East Coast: Report

ATLANTA, GA — Few major networks lost signal on the East Coast on Monday due to a technical concern across Warner Bros. Discovery, Atlanta-based CNN reported.

The broadcast interference impacted CNN, HBO and other channels owned by Warner Bros during the networks' noon hour, according to CNN. Warner Bros. is also the operator of TNT and TBS, also headquartered in Atlanta.

Downdetector data showed hundreds of viewers were affected between noon and 1 p.m.

While a panel talked President Donald Trump's trade war, CNN reported the screen began to freeze, glitch and pixelate.

A Facebook user appeared to show video of the glitching.

"Viewers may have experienced different impacts depending on the distribution platform they use," CNN reported.

Data showed the issue largely affected CNN's live channel at 79 percent of viewers reporting problems. Fourteen percent video streaming viewers and 6 percent of app viewers reported concerns.

In the comments on Downdetector, less than a handful of people reported viewing problems on both CNN and CNN International.

The network was reportedly back online around 1 p.m.
