ATL Attorney To Be Featured On 'Survivor': Here's Her Story

Alexis Levine, an attorney who has overcome life's obstacles, has decided to showcase her will to persevere on an upcoming season of "Survivor."

She has faced addiction on the road to sobriety. She has braved postpartum after giving birth to her daughter.

And now, Levine is one of 21 first-time players to comprise the tribes of "Survivor 51: Open Era." The long-running show situates competitors on a castaway island to battle in a series of challenges and tasks them with building their shelter and foraging their food.

Tribal members go through eliminations until one wins the $1 million prize. That could be Levine.

If she did win the massive prize, the 34-year-old said the money would go toward in vitro fertilization to help her birth a second child. The prize would also benefit her law firm so she can provide "great quality representation at an affordable rate."

Owner of criminal defense law firm Levine Law, she has her own story of survival. Before applying for "Survivor," she told Patch that she notched 10 years of sobriety.

"I was really proud of myself," Levine said. " ... I felt like what's next? What's my next challenge that I'm going to conquer?"

Experiencing a difficult pregnancy, and having prevailed, made her feel like she was capable of doing anything. Hence: she applied for "Survivor."

It would be a new adventure for her, a "once in a lifetime opportunity;" but, she did not think she would get a callback.

Fresh from court one day, Levine sent in a video detailing why she would be perfect for "Survivor." That happened in April 2025, and by that August, a casting producer reached out to her.

Ultimately, a months-long process ended with Levine being cast in February. Other cast members include a wrestler, a voice actress, a chef and a farmer.

"I have a little bit of anxiety about it just to see how things are portrayed because I have my experience, my memories that I hold close from that experience; and, I know other people have their perspectives," she said ahead of the show's premiere.

Be that as it may, Levine is proud of who she is in life and the person she was on "Survivor," her most adored show.

"I don't see that changing," she said. "I'm very excited to see my favorite show that I also happen to be in and be a part of."

An attorney of six years and a champion in life, the Atlanta native's personal experiences lent themselves as tools she was able to take to "Survivor."

Quick thinking, making arguments to juries and the ability to pivot were a number of skills Levine was able to take with her to the island.

It also helped that she knows what it is like to climb to the top.

"I've been at the bottom of life before, and I have clawed myself out of my own grave," Levine said. "... I'm very used to being on the bottom, and I went into this knowing that all of those experiences would help me.

She hopes her time of the show will be inspirational and will encourage anyone to make any necessary changes because then, that person will be able to "do anything."

"I went through a lot in my own adult life, and I'm not unique in that at all," she said. "Plenty of people go through substance abuse and are in recovery now, but plenty of people go through other things that rock their life and force them to reassess and change their life in some way and make changes for the better, and all of those people should be proud of themselves just like I'm proud of myself."

The latest season of "Survivor" will air on CBS and Paramount+, starting Wednesday. The two-hour premiere will begin at 8 p.m.
