Fall is officially here in Atlanta, and there's no shortage of ways to make the most of it. From festivals and farmers markets to pumpkin patches, live music and other seasonal fun, October brings plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy what's happening close to home.
Here are some events and activities happening in and around Atlanta this October.

When: Oct. 17-18, 2026, 12–7 p.m.
Where: Little Five Points neighborhood, Atlanta
Celebrate spooky season at Little 5 Points Halloween Fest, a two-day neighborhood celebration packed with Halloween activities and entertainment. The festival features more than 100 art vendors, live music, street performers, a Monster Sticker Hunt, pumpkin smashing and other festivities throughout Little Five Points. The signature Halloween Parade travels down Moreland Avenue at 1 p.m. on Sunday, and no general festival admission price is listed.
When: Oct. 17, 18, 24, 25 and 31, 2026, 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
Where: Zoo Atlanta, 800 Cherokee Avenue Southeast, Atlanta
Costumes are encouraged at Boo at the Zoo, a family-friendly Halloween celebration returning for five dates in October. Kids can follow the Trick-or-Treat Lane, play carnival games, make Halloween crafts and meet costumed characters, while families can enjoy live entertainment and seasonal photo opportunities throughout the zoo. Boo at the Zoo activities are included with general zoo admission and are free for Zoo Atlanta members and children under 3, although select attractions require an additional purchase.
When: Wednesday through Sunday, Sept. 19–Nov. 1, 2026; hours vary by day
Where: Sleepy Hollow Farm, 628 Sleepy Hollow Road, Powder Springs
Head to nearby Powder Springs for Fall Fest 2026 at Sleepy Hollow Farm, where families can spend an autumn day exploring the farm. General admission includes tractor rides, a corn maze, farm animals, a kids' play area, pumpkin patch access, Nature Ninja play area and a nine-hole putt-putt course, although pumpkins are sold separately. Admission is $12 per person Wednesday through Friday and $15 on weekends, plus taxes and fees, while children 2 and under are free with a paying adult.
When: Fridays through Sundays, Sept. 19–Nov. 1, 2026; Pumpkin Festival attractions begin at 2 p.m.
Where: Stone Mountain Park, 1000 Robert E. Lee Boulevard, Stone Mountain
Make the trip to nearby Stone Mountain for Stone Mountain Park's Pumpkin Festival, where visitors can play by day before the park lights up after dark. Daytime festivities include character meet-and-greets, storytelling, shows, a hay maze and fall photo opportunities, while nighttime brings glowing pumpkins, themed areas, illuminated attractions and the Enchanted Glow-a-Long Parade. Festival activities are included with a Daily Attraction Ticket or Mountain Membership, with ticket prices varying by date and ticket type.
When: Saturdays through Dec. 19, 2026, 8:30 a.m.–12 p.m.
Where: The Cathedral of St. Philip, 2744 Peachtree Road Northwest, Atlanta
Start a fall Saturday at Peachtree Road Farmers Market, which brings more than 70 local vendors to The Cathedral of St. Philip each week. Visitors can shop for locally grown and produced goods while enjoying live music, a children's area, playgrounds, chef pop-ups and other activities. The market is open rain or shine, and no admission fee is listed, making it an easy addition to an October weekend in Atlanta.
