Police search for suspects in southwest Atlanta robbery (fox5atlanta.com) — Atlanta police are asking for your help after a Sept. 18 convenience store robbery on Fairburn Road SW where suspects smashed a vape display, stole merchandise and candy, and threatened an employee. Investigators released surveillance video and urge anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers Atlanta anonymously, with rewards up to $5,000 available for useful tips.
2. Atlanta Dream host Liberty in WNBA playoff semifinal opener (fox5atlanta.com) — Atlanta basketball fans get a big moment Sunday as the Dream host the New York Liberty at State Farm Arena in their first WNBA semifinal appearance since 2018. With a defense led by Angel Reese and added veteran DeWanna Bonner, team leaders are urging Atlanta supporters to pack the arena and bring loud energy for Games 1 and 2.
3. Salina de la Renta Reportedly Resumes Management Role Duties in MLW (411mania.com) — Major League Wrestling is currently producing a show in Atlanta, with manager and executive Salina de la Renta back in her behind-the-scenes role after time off for her studies. Her return strengthens MLW's leadership team as she continues serving in several creative and talent-relations positions while working here in the city.
4. Court sets aside conviction tied to deported Ga. Army veteran's immigration case (wrdw.com) — A Georgia court has thrown out the misdemeanor conviction that helped trigger deportation proceedings against longtime resident and Army veteran Godfrey Wade, whose case ran through Atlanta's immigration court. Wade, who once worked at The Battery and the Georgia Capitol, remains in Jamaica while his appeals continue and a Georgia congressman pushes legislation that could restore his permanent residency.
