ALPHARETTA, GA — Alpharetta drivers traveling north on SR 400 near Windward Parkway will see a permanent lane change in coming weeks, city officials said Thursday.
This comes as the Georgia Department of Transportation completes construction work on the SR 400 Express Lanes Project, according to the City of Alpharetta. The change will take effect on Dec. 13.
Officials say a northbound flex lane will permanently close between Exit 11 (Windward Parkway) and the area south of the Webb Bridge Road overpass. The will cover about three-quarters of a mile, city officials said.
Flex lane signs and striping will be removed, and a temporary concrete barrier wall will be installed, officials said.
Four northbound lanes will remain open as the traffic pattern shifts. Drivers exiting at Windward Parkway will continue accessing the two-lane exit ramp from the right lanes, city officials said.
Drivers heading north on SR 400 should stay in the through lanes and travel straight, city officials said.
