• Local advocate pushes for a skate park in Richmond County (wjbf.com) — Augusta skaters may finally get a dedicated park again, as local advocate Tyler Evans‑Martin presses the Augusta Commission and Parks and Recreation with grant ideas and potential sites like Bayvale Park. He's now pushing for formal meetings to hash out details, arguing a skate park would give riders a safe, legal place instead of streets and parking lots.
• Meet the five finalist for Richmond County's Teacher of the Year (augustachronicle.com) — Five standout Richmond County educators—from Cross Creek, Josey, Freedom Park, the Performance Learning Center and Richmond County Technical Career Magnet—are finalists for Teacher of the Year, highlighting the strength of Augusta's public schools. Several are local graduates of Augusta University or Paine College, and they're being recognized for boosting graduation rates, leading JROTC, and providing vital STEM and early intervention support.
• Students show off their tech skills at the RCSS Community STEAM Showcase (theaugustapress.com) — Richmond County students recently packed the HUB for Community Innovation on Chafee Avenue to show off robotics, coding and other STEAM projects supported by Augusta-area partners like Georgia Power and the Georgia Cancer Center. Educators say the hands-on showcase is boosting student achievement and even literacy, while helping parents see how classroom learning connects to real-world careers.
