Woman arrested in Augusta domestic shooting (wjbf.com) โ A man was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after a domestic-related shooting Sunday evening on Williamsburg Drive in Augusta, and a Hephzibah woman was arrested at the scene. Richmond County deputies say the suspect, Adreanna Bottoms, faces aggravated assault and firearm charges as investigators continue looking into what led to the dispute.

Closed Augusta school could become care center for adults, youth (augustachronicle.com) โ A closed Augusta elementary school, Terrace Manor, may soon be reborn as a care center serving adults with developmental disabilities and mental health diagnoses, plus afterschool programs for special-needs and at-risk youth. An Evans-based operator is seeking rezoning, with the Augusta-Richmond County Planning Commission set to decide at its Oct. 6 meeting, potentially bringing new support services to families across Richmond County.

PaceDay 2026 shows increased turnout (theaugustapress.com) โ Hundreds of locals packed Augusta University's Health Sciences Campus Sunday for PaceDay 2026, Paceline's annual cancer-fighting ride, walk and run that now draws more than 900 participants across Augusta and Aiken County. With strong showings from area high schools and even an Augusta National employee team, organizers expect to top $200,000 raised, with more events planned before fundraising wraps on Dec. 6.

Through Friday, donors at Shepeard locations or bloodmobiles can help boost the local blood supply and receive a free Chick-fil-A sandwich from CSRA locations plus a T-shirt.
