• 9/11 Remembrance Events in metro Atlanta, North Georgia (fox5atlanta.com) — Austell will host a 9/11 commemoration ceremony at 8:25 a.m. on September 11 at the Threadmill Complex on Austell-Powder Springs Road, giving residents a local place to remember the attacks' 25th anniversary. The roundup also highlights similar ceremonies and tributes across metro Atlanta and North Georgia if you'd like to observe the day elsewhere.
• Fright Fest returns to Six Flags Over Georgia (wsbtv.com) — Fright Fest is coming back to Six Flags Over Georgia in Austell, bringing 22 nights of haunted mazes, scare zones, and a new live show from September 12 through November 1. Families can also enjoy daytime Tricks & Treats on weekends, with costume contests, trick-or-treating, and kid-friendly activities before the scares begin.
• One Six Flags Cancels Its Popular Halloween Event (travelhost.com) — While Six Flags Darien Lake in New York has canceled its Fright Fest this year, Six Flags Over Georgia in Austell will still host the Halloween event from September 12 through November 1. If you're craving haunted mazes and scare zones, the article suggests Austell's park as a prime alternative for full Fright Fest thrills.
