• 6 men drove to Georgia to fight teen; he ended up dead (wsbtv.com) — Residents in Bainbridge are learning that six men have been sentenced to 40 years in prison each for their roles in the 2022 shooting death of 16-year-old K'Darius Smart here. Prosecutors say the group drove from the Tallahassee area to south Georgia to confront the teen, and the fight escalated into deadly gunfire.
   

• Bearcats track down placements at Dueling Summits meet (thepostsearchlight.com) — Bainbridge High School and Bainbridge Middle School cross country runners opened their season with strong finishes at the Dueling Summits meet in Tallahassee. Coach Eric Conner praised the results as a baseline for improvement, and the Bearcats now turn their focus to their next meet at the Albany Area YMCA on August 29.
