Officers emphasized stronger partnerships, increased patrols, and reassured shoppers that the center remains safe, while residents praised the department’s quick arrests and ongoing visibility in the area.    

• DHS Worker Killed In DeKalb Shooting, Stabbing While Walking Dog: Feds (patch.com) — A Brookhaven-area crime spree this week left a Department of Homeland Security staffer dead after she was shot and stabbed while walking her dog on Battle Forrest Drive. Authorities say the same suspect is also linked to a deadly shooting near Wesley Chapel Road and another shooting near a Brookhaven grocery store, and he is now jailed without bond on multiple serious charges.
