Shannon plans to work closely with the city of Brookhaven and area businesses to strengthen relationships, expand the chamber's reach, and support economic growth in 2026 and beyond.
   

• West Nile virus found in more DeKalb County mosquito traps (fox5atlanta.com) — Mosquito traps in Brookhaven's 30319 area have tested positive for West Nile virus, though DeKalb County health officials say there are still no human cases. Residents are urged to stay informed through DeKalb Public Health's Environmental Health division and website as surveillance continues across North Decatur, Brookhaven, and the rest of the county.
   

• Kroger Store Closures 2026: Dozens of Locations Shutting Down Nationwide (time.news) — Brookhaven shoppers will lose a major grocery option as Kroger plans to close its store at 3855 Buford Highway NE as part of a nationwide shutdown of about 60 locations. The company says employees will be offered roles at other stores, while it reshuffles underperforming sites across Georgia and several other states.
