• Kroger Store Closures 2026: Dozens of Locations Shutting Down Nationwide (time.news) — Kroger plans to close its Brookhaven store at 3855 Buford Highway NE as part of a nationwide reduction of about 60 locations. Brookhaven shoppers may need to shift to other area groceries, though Kroger says affected employees will be offered positions at nearby stores while the company reshapes its real estate footprint.
   

• West Nile virus found in more DeKalb County mosquito traps (fox5atlanta.com) — Mosquito traps in Brookhaven's 30319 ZIP code have tested positive for West Nile virus, though no human cases have been reported in DeKalb County so far. Residents in Brookhaven are urged to stay informed through DeKalb Public Health and take precautions against mosquito bites while officials continue monitoring and reporting new test results.
