• Cities put hazardous waste in its place (thechampionnewspaper.com) — Brookhaven partnered with Chamblee, Doraville, and nonprofit Live Thrive in August for a major hazardous waste and recycling event at Plaza Fiesta, serving 308 cars. The drive diverted more than 41,000 pounds of paint, electronics, Styrofoam, and other hard-to-dispose items from local creeks, sewers, and landfills, underscoring strong community commitment to environmental stewardship.
