BRINGING TOGETHER THE PAST AND PRESENT

Atlanta Pops Orchestra 70th Anniversary and Oglethorpe 100th Anniversary on Peachtree 2-night Gala Celebration Oct. 2nd & 3rd.

β€œBringing Together the Past and Present” will highlight songs by Georgia guest artists from all styles and genres of music. Most guest artists will perform their songs arranged for the Atlanta Pops Orchestra with the Atlanta Pops Orchestra. From Cecil Welch who performed with conductor Albert Coleman and was Henry Mancini’s principal trumpet, to Americana songwriter Levi Lowrey, co-writer on Zac Brown Band’s #1 hit song Colder Weather. Classical and jazz pianist Brent Runnels, Riverdance alum Scott Porter, blues rocker Michelle Malone and popular jazz and big band performer Joe Gransden will hit the stage along with classic, fusion cello/guitar duo Montana Skies AND singer Chris Wright who will premier a song by songwriter...... Governor of Georgia, Nathan Deal!
And, if that’s not enough the Atlanta Pops Orchestra will delight the audience even further with an appearance by HeaveN Beatbox and special arrangements of two hit songs by Grammy award winning group... Arrested Development!

Emcees for the show include Monica Pearson and Chuck Dowdle.

Location: Conant Performing Arts Center at Oglethorpe University on Peachtree.
