Brookhaven Bucks Get Ready For Playoffs

The regular season is winding down on the Bucks' second year in the Sunbelt League.


With the regular season winding down, the are poised to make the Sunbelt League playoffs for the second consecutive year. 

The Bucks’ finish their regular season home schedule Wednesday, July 25, at 7:15pm at Oglethorpe, facing the 6-4-3 Cougars. After this week’s slate of games, the Bucks will learn their seeding and playoff schedule.

As of now, the Bucks appear to be the No. seed and would play their first playoff game Saturday, July 28, at Oglethorpe against the No. 3 seeded Atlanta Crackers.

According to Bucks’ Head Coach Nick Hogan, “With our top pitching and explosive offense, we have a shot at going very far in the playoffs. Playing at our home field (Oglethorpe) will certainly give us an advantage. I hope all Bucks’ fans will come out and support the team as we make our 2012 playoff run.”

The Bucks’ pitching staff is led by Sunbelt All-Stars Forrest Garrett (Mercer University) and Beau Buckler (Meridian Junior College).  Offensively, the Bucks’ team leaders include Sunbelt All-Stars Jay Page (Emory University), Kyle Streicher (Georgia Southern), Garrett Pitts (Troy University) and Tyler Roach (Ole Miss).
