Brookhaven, Chamblee Graduation Schedules Announced

BROOKHAVEN, GA -- The graduation schedules of Brookhaven's and Chamblee's local high schools has been announced, along with a list of the schools' valedictorians and salutatorians.

Cross Keys High School will graduate on Wednesday, May 25, at 7:30 p.m., at North DeKalb Stadium. Chamblee Charter High School will graduate on Friday, May 27, at 6:30 pm, at the school.

Valedictorian, Chamblee Charter High School Magnet

• Aomeng Cui. Accepted into Georgia Tech, Univ. of GA, John Hopkins Univ., Columbia Univ., and Georgetown. She has decided to purse her dreams of being a physician at Columbia University. She scored a perfect score on her SAT (2400) and has won numerous awards for her academic success. She is also a member of the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra. Aomeng is a winner of the National Merit Scholarship.

Salutatorian, Chamblee Charter High School Magnet

• Mati Alemayehu. Accepted into Georgia Tech, Mass. Institute of Technology, Rice, Vanderbilt, and Emory. As a Gates Millennium Scholar and Ron Brown Scholar, Mati will attend MIT next year to major in Bio-Engineering.

Valedictorian, Chamblee Charter High School Resident

• Mutasem Shopon. Will be attending the University of GA this fall majoring in Biology/Pre-Med. Mutasem is a Simon Scholar and has been very active in Community Action for Teens. He is a member of the National Honor Society and the National Hispanic Honor Society.

Salutatorian, Chamblee Charter High School Resident

• Joseph Lee. A a Simon Scholar who plans to attend Georgia Tech this fall to major in Biology/Pre-Medicine. He is very passionate about his involvement with Community Action for Teens.

Valedictorian, Cross Keys

• David Nguyen. A Cross Keys 2016 Star Student. He plans to attend Kennesaw or Neumont University. He has been on the A Honor Roll list for his 10th, 11th and 12th grade.

Salutatorian, Cross Keys

• Agnele Sewa. A 2016 Posse Winner. She will attend Brandeis University. She was placed on the A Honors Roll for her 11th and 12th grade.
