Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival: Everything You Need to Know

Organizers are probably hoping this year's event is a little less controversial than last year's inaugural festival.

BROOKHAVEN, GA -- Organizers of the second annual Brookhaven Cherry Blossom Festival are probably hoping this year's event is a little less confrontational.

The event is set for Saturday, April 2, at Blackburn Park from 10 am to 7 pm, and Sunday, April 3, from 11 am to 6 pm. Admission is free.

At last year's event, the city's then-communications director Rosemary Taylor allegedly made some inappropriate remarks about two models that a freelance photographer had hired. The controversy over Taylor's remarks led to her firing after only about a month on the job.

Lane Closures

  • Single Lane Closure: We will use one lane on Donaldson Drive for the 5K Race presented by Xfinity on Saturday only. Closure will be from Blair Circle to Ashford Dunwoody Road on Donaldson Drive.
