Brookhaven City Council Unanimously Approves Face Mask Ordinance

The Brookhaven City Council acted on several items in its Aug. 25 business meeting, held via video conference, with public input offered through email and by online comments on Zoom. The action items are as follows:

  • The Council held a public hearing and subsequently approved a rezoning at 3115 Buford Highway from RM-14 to C-1 to maintain existing use (restaurant).
  • The Council unanimously approved a consent agenda which included:
    • The minutes of the Aug. 11 virtual Work Session and Regular Meeting.
    • The FY2020 Authorized Position Amendment.
  • The Mayor and Council approved a resolution to appoint Ben Shepherd to the Advisory Audit Committee.
  • The Council unanimously approved a contract with Kaizen Collective for the Northeast Expressway multi-use path design in the amount of $66,360.
  • The Council unanimously approved an ordinance requiring the use of masks or face coverings in public during the COVID-19 outbreak.
