Brookhaven Election 2019: Mayoral, City Unofficial Winners
Live Election Results: Voters in Brookhaven have decided on a mayor and city council representative.

BROOKHAVEN, GA β The polls have closed in Georgia and the Brookhaven mayoral and city council race is left to the voters. Incumbent John Ernst lis the projected winner in the mayoral race with 4,041 votes. His opponent Jennifer Heath followed behind with 1,906 votes of 5,947, according to WSB-TV.
Ernst has been mayor since 2015 and almost ran unopposed until Heath challenged him on the final day of qualifying for Brookhaven's 2019 elections.

Madeleine Simmons is the projected winner with 1,206 votes of a total of 1,492. Dimitrius Owens followed behind with 286 votes. The city council seat was split between the two candidates when Councilman Bates Mattison chose not to run for reelection. This is the first time the district has elected a new representative since the cityβs founding.
Linley Jones will serve another term in the District 1 City Council seat. Jones ran unopposed.
