Brookhaven Participating In Georgia Cities Week

Georgia Cities Week is April 21-27. Here's what Brookhaven is doing to participate.

From The City of Brookhaven: The City of Brookhaven announces its participation in Georgia Cities Week, a statewide campaign by the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) to bring awareness about local government and to spotlight events happening throughout the City. Georgia Cities Week is April 21-27. Below are some activities happening in Brookhaven:

Tuesday, April 23, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. – Pizza With Police (and All Other Things Brookhaven) invites residents to stop by the Brookhaven Police Department, enjoy a slice on us, and learn how to sign up for various City alerts, news, programs and more. – 2665 Buford Highway

Tuesday, April 23, 7 p.m. – See your Brookhaven City government in action by attending a Mayor and City Council meeting when the official Georgia Cities Week proclamation will be read. - 4362 Peachtree Rd NE

Friday, April 26, 5:30-8:30 p.m. – Murphey Candler Park Conservancy Earth Day Spring Social raises awareness for ongoing park conservation efforts and volunteer opportunities. Local conservation groups and sports leagues will be on hand to provide information. The event will include food trucks, music, petting zoo, face-painting, adult beverages and more. - 1670 West Nancy Creek Drive (County Corner Open Space)

Ongoing, through Aug. 4. – “Peachtree Creek: A Natural & Unnatural History of Atlanta”, on display at Oglethorpe University, features photographs, the history of the creek, a timeline, and conservation issues. Also included are renderings by Carlos Perez of Perez Planning and Design LLC for the Peachtree Creek Greenway, Inc. of the “model miles” they are currently creating along the creek’s north fork. This exhibition is presented in partnership with the Peachtree Creek Greenway Inc, Oglethorpe University and the City of Brookhaven. – Turner Lynch Campus Center, Oglethorpe University, 4484 Peachtree Rd NE
