Brookhaven Piccadilly Cafeteria Serves its Last Customer

The landmark restaurant on North Druid Hills Road closed on Sunday.

BROOKHAVEN GA -- The city’s landmark Piccadilly Cafeteria closed for good on Sunday, Jan. 3, as the site will become part of a major Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta expansion.

The restaurant first opened as a Morrison’s in the 1960s, according to Tomorrow’s News Today. Piccadilly bought Morrison’s in 1998, but the Louisiana-based cafeteria chain has suffered declining sales for several years.

Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta has not released plans for the site, reports The Brookhaven Post. The company bought the parcel -- which has been rezoned for general commercial use -- in 2014.
