Brookhaven, Police Honored for Being DeKalb's Safest City
A resolution honoring the city as DeKalb's safest was announced on the legislature's final day.
ATLANTA, GA -- Brookhaven police were honored Thursday morning on the final day of this year's legislative session.
The city was recently named DeKalb's safest by Safewise, which ranked Georgia's safest metro areas.
The company came up with the rankings by reviewing the most recent FBI Crime Report statistics from 2014, along with population data. It eliminated all cities with fewer than 4,000 residents as well as any cities that failed to submit a complete crime report to the FBI.
