Capitol City Opera Company Presents The Billy Goats Gruff Saturday, March 25, 2017

This family-friendly operatic adaptation of the classic fairy tale takes a familiar story and adds a strong anti-bullying message.

Capitol City Opera Company’s (CCOC) Opera Outreach for Children will present The Billy Goats Gruff on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Conant Performing Arts Center at Oglethorpe University. Tickets are $10 per person and available online at CCITYOPERA.org, or at the door on the morning of the performance, starting at 10 a.m.

Composer John Davies’ operatic adaptation of the classic fairy tale, The Billy Goats Gruff, takes a familiar story and adds a strong anti-bullying message that promotes the power of kindness. Ideal for children in pre-K through 5th grade, this 50-minute opera is set to some of the greatest music by Mozart, Rossini, and Donizetti.

A touring production of this show will also be available for booking at schools, churches and other community events throughout the 2017-2018 season.

Elementary school teachers, school administrative leadership, and elementary school PTA leadership considering bringing this show to their schools will be able to preview this performance for free. Present appropriate school identification credentials at the box office on the day of the show.
