Update: Elderly Chamblee Man Dies After Rescue from Burning House

CHAMBLEE, GA -- An elderly blind man who was rescued from his burning Chamblee home by DeKalb firefighters has died.

The Chamblee police department confirmed the man’s death on its Facebook page.

Two other people, both elderly, were living in the home, police said, but they had already escaped the fire by the time firefighters arrived.

The fire was in the 1900 block of McJenkin Drive off Clairmont Road.

No word yet on the cause of the fire.
