Four Brookhaven, Chamblee Students Named Gates Millennium Scholars
A total of 15 DeKalb County students earned the honor.

CHAMBLEE, GA -- Two Chamblee High School students and two Cross Keys High School students have been named 2015-16 Gates Millennium Scholars.
The students join a group of 1,000 recipients nationwide including 90 students in Georgia who will receive a full-ride scholarship for their entire college career, including masters and doctorate studies if they choose to pursue those degrees.

Mati Alemayehu and Marcus Strickland earned the honors from Chamblee High, while Cross Keys High School's Adela Lopez and Jeremy Madina were the recipients.
The scholarship was funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to provide minority students with access and money for college and boost minority participation in high-need areas like computer science, education, engineering, library science, mathematics, public health, and science.
