Full Speed Ahead for Brookhaven Innovation Academy
The state board of education has approved its contract.

The Brookhaven Innovation Academy is formally set to open next fall.
According to the Brookhaven Post, the state Board of Education has approved its contract to operate as a charter school.
The brainchild of District 3 Councilman Bates Mattison, the school will begin with 420 students in grades K-6 and add one grade per year until it reaches 540 students in grades K-8.

“Our goal is to offer Georgia families education options which are personalized to meet the needs of each child, preparing every child to succeed in college or career,” Mattison said in a statement. “We believe our innovative model of integrating technology, innovation, and STEM Project-based learning will deliver superior results in education. We invite all Georgians to join with us as we continue on the journey we started 18 months ago.”
A series of information meetings will begin on Oct. 22 at Pour Bistro on Dresden Drive from 6-8pm.
