Georgia Tech Student May Have Jumped Onto a Moving Train

That's what a TV station is reporting about James Hubert, who went missing and was found three days later unconscious beside train tracks.

The Georgia Tech student who went missing late one evening but was found injured and unconscious three days later beside a set of downtown train tracks may have attempted to jump onto a moving train.

Initial reports were that James Hubert was mugged and beaten up after leaving a sorority event late on Friday, Oct. 16. He was believed to have taken MARTA after the party. Hubert’s family and fraternity issued a frantic search for the 24-year-old student through various social media outlets over that weekend.

Hubert was found the following Monday morning unconscious along railroad tracks running along DeKalb Avenue and Arizona Street.

On her public Facebook page, Hubert’s mother had listed her son’s injuries paralysis on the left side; blood on the brain; broken vertebrae, ribs and scapula and a punctured lung.

Now, CBS46 Atlanta’s Karyn Greer reports that police do not believe Hubert was on MARTA that night. The station also says that police have video surveillance footage of Hubert jumping onto a moving train, possibly a CSX train, in an apparent daredevil-like stunt.
