Hundreds Attend Bucks Home Opener

While the result wasn't what the Bucks were hoping for - a 5-1 loss at the hands of the Douglasville Bulls - owner/G.M. John Davis said more than 300 people attended the game.

"Last year, we had 54 folks at our season opener," Davis told Patch. "So we’re very pleased today."

The Bucks scored their first run of the season in the second innning, when Tyler Roach scored after starting the inning off with a single. The Bulls tied the game in the sixth, then broke it open two innings later in a four-run eighth.

"I was proud of the Bucks since we loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth and had a shot," Davis said. "But our last out was caught on the warning track."

Last year, the Bucks started the year 4-4, before winning 10 straight.

The Bucks next home game is Wedneday, June 6, at 7:15 pm.
