Kittredge Fifth Grader Wins Clean Air Art Competition Award

Emery Walhen, 10, got art supplies and a certificate for her entry about car pollution.

A fifth grader at Kittredge Magnet School for High Achievers has won art supplies and a certificate for her creative entry in the Clean Air Campaign's Young Lungs at Work Art Competition, the Champion Newspaper reports. The school also received a $300 donation to its science and arts programs.

Emery Walhen, 10, is the elementary school first place winner in the competition's Comic Strip Challenge for her submission about car pollution, "Be cool, walk to school: For Clean Air!"
