Man Found Guilty of Raping Elderly Woman: Report

A DeKalb County jury recently convicted a man of raping a 79-year-old Chamblee woman in her home soon after he had been released from prison, according to a media report.

Allen Lee Garner, 32, was convicted Nov. 2 on six counts in the sexual assault, which occurred on April 27, 2014, WGCL-TV (CBS46) reported.

A DNA sample, obtained by police after Garner’s arrest later that week on a burglary charge, linked him to the rape, CBS46 reported. The sample was taken and processed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
