Miss Georgia is the New Miss America
Betty Cantrell from Warner Robins won Sunday night's nationally televised contest.
Betty Cantrell, a 21-year-old native of Warner Robins, was crowned the new Miss America on Sunday night.
Cantrell won a $50,000 scholarship along with her title.
Cantrell performed “Tu Tu Piccolo Iddio” from “Madame Butterfly” in the nationally televised pageant. She won a preliminary competition earlier in the week, also with an opera performance.
