Steinmart in Brookhaven Evacuated Due to Bomb Threat

An anonymous call came in around 12:54 on Tuesday afternoon.

Brookhaven GA -- Brookhaven’s new Steinmart was evacuated Tuesday afternoon due to a bomb threat.

Police spokesman Officer Carlos Nino told Patch the anonymous threat came in around 12:53 pm.

“Stein Mart and surrounding businesses have been evacuated out of caution,” Nino said. “No suspicious packages or devices have been found so far.”

The DeKalb County Bomb Squad is also on the scene, and using four canine teams to search the complex. Police are also trying to determine the validity of the call.

The entrance into Brookhaven Plaza has been closed, but no other roads have been impacted.
