Police Arrest Three Brookhaven Home Invasion Suspects

The men are being charged in connection with a December 5 home invasion on Saxon Valley Place.

Brookhaven GA -- Brookhaven police have arrested three men in connection with a Dec. 3 home invasion.

Joshua Sims, 32 of Lithonia; Samuel M. Alexander, 25; and Demario R. Flowers, 27, both of Decatur, have each been charged with home invasion. Simms is also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, firearm possession during a felony, and cocaine possession.

According to Investigators, Sims, Alexander, Flowers, and a fourth man – who has not yet been arrested – went to the 1900 block of Saxon Valley Place around 3 am Saturday morning. The men were armed with a handgun as they forcibly entered the occupied home. Brookhaven police officers responded to an alarm call and a 9-1-1 call from inside the house. The officers quickly surrounded the neighborhood and wood line. The three males were arrested less than seven minutes after the first call to police, and investigators are following strong leads towards arresting the remaining offender.

Investigators believe this incident was related to a burglary at the same residence on November 2, during which a car key was stolen. Sims is a suspect in that burglary, and this investigation indicates the males returned Saturday to steal the car.

Sims, Alexander, and Flowers are being held at the Dekalb County Jail.
