Robbery Suspect Opens Fire on Brookhaven Police Officer
The incident happened late Tuesday at the Village at Druid Hills. The officer wasn't struck, and police are still searching for the suspect.
BROOKHAVEN, Ga. -- Police are looking for a robbery suspect who opened fire on a Brookhaven police officer late Tuesday night.
According to police, the officer was parked in the Village at Druid Hills shopping plaza when a man ran up to him shouting “I just got robbed.” The victim said the robbery happened behind the plaza, and when the officer went into the back of the shopping center, another victim said the suspect "just shot at me" and "ran into the apartment complex."
"The officer relocated to the complex and noticed a black vehicle backing out of parking space then moving toward his direction," police said. "The officer approached the vehicle and spoke with the subject face to face, and asked the subject if he saw someone running. The subject pointed behind him and said, 'he went that way.'"
