Suspect Arrested In Fatal Brookhaven Accident

DECATUR, GA -- The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit has arrested a suspect in a traffic-related incident on Sept. 2, 2018 that resulted in the death of a passenger.

According to warrants, Jaron Donnay Hester, 30, of Union City, Ga., was recklessly operating a vehicle while also attempting to elude law enforcement officers who were in his pursuit for traffic violations.

The warrants allege Hester was driving at over 100 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone at I-85 near North Druid Hills Road when he crashed the vehicle. He and one passenger were taken to Grady Hospital for treatment of their injuries. The other passenger, Jazmin Jeanty, died as a result of the crash.

Hester is charged with felony murder, false imprisonment, DUI, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, and reckless driving.
