Three Brookhaven Families Left Homeless After Fire
The fire happened Tuesday night on Buford Highway.

BROOKHAVEN, GA -- Three families were left homeless after a Tuesday night apartment fire on Buford Highway.
The fire was in the 3500 block, according to the AJC, and was put out after about 20 minutes.
A total of 11 families were evacuated, and half were returned to their homes after the incident.

The American Red Cross is working with the three families whose apartment was damaged. No word yet on what caused the fire, which happened as an arctic winter blast hit metro Atlanta and temperatures remained well below freezing.
