Two Dead After Wrong-Way Crash in Brookhaven
The driver was attempting to elude state troopers during a high-speed chase.

BROOKHAVEN, GA -- One person is dead and two others were injured on I-85 in Brookhaven when a driver attempted to elude state troopers and ran into wrong-way traffic.
A Georgia State patrolman was attempting to pull over the driver of a Saturn, according to the AJC. The driver then led police on a high-speed chase. At one point, the vehicle was traveling on Clairmont Road and got onto the I-85 southbound ramp.
The trooper then executed the so-called Precision Immobilization Technique, or PIT, where the pursuing officer uses his front bumper to touch the suspect’s rear bumper, causing the car to spin and come to a halt.

But instead of coming to a stop, the driver of the Saturn then fled in the wrong direction, facing northbound traffic in the southbound lane. A woman driving a black Inifiniti hit the Saturn head-on.
The driver and one of the three passengers were killed, while another is in critical condition at Grady Memorial Hospital.

The woman driving the Infiniti suffered minor injuries.
