113 Offenses, 79 Arrests in Buckhead Between Oct. 12 - 18

Crime figures are up 13 percent from the same period last year.

The Atlanta Police Department has released its statistical crime report for the week of Oct. 12 - 18, which reports a slight increase in the number of crimes reported in Buckhead’s Zone 2.

According to the data, 113 crimes were reported in Zone 2 during the week in question, the majority of which were larceny cases. Three robberies, two aggravated assaults, and 18 burglaries were reported during the week. The overall figure is a 13 percent increase from the same week last year, which saw only 100 crimes reported.

Arrests kept pace with the increase in crime, the data reports. Police in Buckhead’s Zone 2 made 79 arrests during the week, up from 72 arrests during the same period last year. The majority of arrests came in response to traffic issues, but police did arrest one robbery suspect, 14 larceny suspects, two auto theft suspects, and three narcotics suspects during the week.

Citywide, police responded to 625 crimes during the week, and made 716 arrests, including one murder suspect, six robbery suspects, 63 larceny suspects, and 105 narcotics suspects.
