39 Westminster Seniors Named National Merit Finalists
Group competes for prestigious scholarship

A total of 39 seniors, in a 198-student class, have been named National Merit finalists in the 56th annual National Merit Scholarship program.
They will now continue in the competition among more than 15,000 finalists from around the country for some 8,400 National Merit Scholarships. The scholarships, worth more than $36 million, will be offered this spring.
About 1.5 million juniors in 22,000 high schools entered the 2011 National Merit Scholarship program by taking the 2009 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

The 39 Westminster seniors are: William Allen, Brian Basco, Samuel Bondurant, Addison Cobb, Tyler Cooke, Kevin Davis, Frances DuPree, Katharine Dickey, David Fridovich-Keil, Jeremy Godsell, Vivek Hansalia, Ian Hassett, Robert Hays, Theodore Howe, Dylan Jeffay, Kevin Kahn, John Lambert, Elizabeth Larson, Carol Lee, Hannah Loo, Michael Lopez, Connor McCleskey, Spencer Nash, Trevor Nash, Margarette Nelson, Eugene Oh, Evan OReilly, Claire Pendergrast, Caroline Reid, Thomas Reid, Sarah Parker Rhodes, David Russell, Matthew Shackelford, Richard Shanor, Blake Spencer, Daniel Taylor, Shane Thomas, John Whelchel and Emily Williams.
