5 Valentine Dates Perfect for Kids and Kids at Heart

Stumped on what to get your Valentine this year? Looking for something kid-friendly? Here are 5 kid perfect Valentine date ideas.

Valentine’s Day is a perfect excuse to get out of the ordinary and plan something fun with the family, or maybe you don’t have kids, but still want something a little less romantic than champagne and chocolates. Here are five Valentine Dates perfect for kids, or just the young at heart.

Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament. Nothing says love like a knight in shining amour. The best part is this is a great outing for boys, as well as girls. So much of Valentine’s Day is pink frilly hearts. If your sweetie isn’t into all that stuff, there are lots of sword fights, jousting, and even falconry. Make the fun last all night long with the Good Knight Package at the Hampton Inn.

Sweetheart Skate Date. Instead of dinner and movie, how about dinner and a skate? Atlantic Station restaurants are teaming up with the ice skating rink for a fun evening with your Valentine. Dine at family friendly places like Meehan’s, Rosa Mexicano, Chick-a-Biddy, California Pizza Kitchen, Atlantic Grill or The Pig & The Pearl on Tuesday, Feb. 14, and receive two complimentary sweetheart skate passes (while supplies last) with the purchase of any two entrées.

American Girl Experience. Your little girl and her doll will never forget an American Girl getaway in Alpharetta. The Marriott Alpharetta’s American Girl Package includes a special check-in, themed room, and AG themed activities. There is also an indoor pool, and full service restaurant on site, so you don’t even have to leave. However, doll spa days with hair and nail services followed by lunch at the American Girl Bistro for everyone is always a fun add.

Horseback Riding. A hike through the woods is a perfect way to spend the day together, but why not jazz it up for Valentine's Day by doing it on horseback. There are several places to go trail riding within an hour of downtown Atlanta. Here is a complete list of trail riding locations so you can choose the one near you. Call ahead to reserve your spot.

North Georgia Zoo. A day at any of the Atlanta area attractions is always a good bet, but for something a little different, head to the North Georgia Zoo in Cleveland. Here you can feed a camel or a parakeet, jump in a box of wool and come face-to-face with wolf. Special animal encounters let you get up close and personal with your favorite animal. You may even get to pet them!
