The new ALDI will be located in the Buckhead Pavilion shopping center at 3321 Peachtree Rd., near Trader Joe's.

The Buckhead store is part of an aggressive building phase for ALDI, which announced late last year it would be expanding to 2,500 stores nationwide by the end of 2022 β€” up from its current roster of about 1,600 stores in 35 states.

The company says its new locations will feature more fresh items, including more robust produce, dairy and bakery sections and more room for customers' favorite products.

ALDI also recently announced a partnership with Instacart, the technology-driven, nationwide on-demand grocery delivery service. The pilot program from ALDI will allow shoppers to order groceries for delivery in as little as one hour. The service is currently being offered in Atlanta, Dallas and Los Angeles and may expand in the future.

The privately held, family-owned business was founded in Germany in 1946.

Monday's event will allow job prospects to ask questions and submit applications. They must be 18 or older to apply. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, a drug screening and background check will be done and applicants should be available to work from 6 a.m.-11 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

The ability to lift 45 pounds also is a requirement.

A separate hiring event is set for the same time at the ALDI at 996 Duluth Hwy. in Lawrenceville for several Gwinnett County stores.
