All Are Welcome at Covenant Presbyterian Church's Christmas Events and Services

As it has for over a century, Buckhead’s Covenant Presbyterian Church will welcome the community to its annual Christmas season events and worship services. Several services and activities are planned in December including:

Sunday, Dec. 14: Global Gift Market. This is the final day of the popular annual event, which offers beautiful, hand-crafted gifts from Haiti and around the world for sale, along with gift cards and fair trade food products and baskets. In addition, women served by Thistle Farms in Nashville, Tenn. will offer natural body care products. The Global Gift Market will be from noon – 5:30 p.m., and proceeds will support the efforts of Ten Thousand Villages (www.tenthousandvillages.com) and the LaGonave Haiti Partnership (http://lagonavepartners.org/).

Sunday, Dec. 14: Service of Lessons and Carols: This traditional service is one of Covenant Presbyterian Church’s most popular holiday services. Senior Pastor Ernie Hess says it’s a celebration of Christmas with well-known scripture verses and many of the beautiful carols we know and love. The service is open to all, and begins at 6 p.m.

Thursday, Dec. 18: The Skylark Vocal Ensemble, a professional chamber choir of world-class vocalists and musicians, will perform “A Skylark Christmas” at 7:30 p.m. in the church’s historic sanctuary. The program will include readings from the King James Bible and a selection of carols spanning six centuries. General admission is $30, and $20 for seniors. Free for music students and educators. Wednesday, Dec. 24: Christmas Eve. This beautiful worship service begins at 5:30 p.m., but music will be offered starting at 5 p.m. The service will include lessons, Christmas carols, communion and candle-lighting. Dr. Ernie Hess, senior pastor, will preach on “Light a Candle”.
