Alleged Drunk Driver Collides With Bus Full of Cheerleaders in Buckhead
The incident occurred on Interstate 75 southbound on Thursday morning, authorities said.

A woman is facing drunk driving and reckless driving charges after the Georgia State Patrol said she drove on the wrong side of the interstate and collided head-on with a bus in Buckhead Thursday morning.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Alissa Mills, 22, was behind the wheel of a 2015 Kia Optima which was traveling northbound on Interstate 75 southbound. At approximately 2 a.m near the West Paces Ferry Road exit, Mills’ Kia collided with a bus carrying a team of high school cheerleaders who were traveling from Kentucky to Orlando for a competition.
The Georgia State Patrol told the AJC that the driver and passengers on the bus were unharmed, and a Kentucky television station reported that other buses transporting other cheerleading teams were able to pick up the stranded cheerleaders and take them to Florida for the competition.

Mills suffered minor injuries in the crash and was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. She now faces charges of driving under the influence, driving on the wrong side of the road, and reckless driving, troopers said.
