Representative Edward Lindsey (R-Atlanta, 54), Georgia House of Representatives, to Speak at Buckhead Business Association Breakfast

The Buckhead Business Association (BBA) is pleased to announce that Representative Edward Lindsey (R- Atlanta, 54), Georgia House of Representatives, will speak at the Buckhead Business Association Breakfast on April 4, 2013 at the City Club of Buckhead. Representative Lindsey will present a recap of the 2013 legislative session.
“Representative Edward Lindsey comes to us with a tremendous amount of experience representing the Buckhead community in the Georgia House of Representatives” notes Brian Daughdrill, 2013 President of the BBA. “As the Georgia legislature has just wrapped up their 2013 session, the BBA looks forward to hosting Representative Lindsey to learn more about the successes, challenges, and policy debates that took place this year under the Gold Dome.”
Representative Edward Lindsey is an Atlanta native. He is a graduate of the Atlanta public schools, Davidson College (B.A. History 1981) and Georgia Law School (J.D. 1984). Rep. Lindsey was first elected in 2004 to the Georgia House of Representatives, representing the North Atlanta Buckhead neighborhoods from Atlanta Memorial Park to Brookhaven. In the State House, he serves as House Majority Whip, the fourth ranking leadership position in the House. Previously, he served as Chair of the House Appropriations Sub Committee on Education, Co-Chair of the Republican Caucus Policy Committee, and Vice-Chair of the Judiciary Committee. Rep. Lindsey also serves on the Appropriations, Industrial Relations, Education, Ethics, Judiciary, and Rules Committees, as well as ex officio on all other standing House Committees.

In addition, he also serves as one of Georgia’s Commissioners to the Uniform Law Commission, a member of the Georgia Commission on Family Violence, a member of the Advisory Board of the Georgia World Congress Center, and Chairman of the Conservative Policy Leadership Institute. Since entering the General Assembly, Rep. Lindsey has been honored by the Georgia Conservation Voters, the Georgia Coalition Against Family Violence, the Georgia Psychological Association, the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, the Atlanta Bar Association, Georgia Women for a Change, and the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians for his efforts on behalf of the people of Georgia.
Rep. Lindsey is a founding partner with the law firm of Goodman McGuffey Lindsey & Johnson, LLP, a thirty-five lawyer litigation firm with offices in Atlanta, Savannah, Charlotte, Sarasota, and Orlando. He and his wife Elizabeth live in the Historic Brookhaven neighborhood of Atlanta and have three sons -- Harman, Charlie, and Zack.
